  1. I’ve not spent a great deal of time using drum machines in recordings or live performances. But, as a percussionist who composes percussion music I have used Hydrogen as a tool to quickly sketch out ideas. It’s easier than recording all the instruments just to get a feel for an idea. I found Hydrogen fairly easy to use for this purpose. Pretty intuitive layout, though the controls were a little tiny on my laptop. All in all, I found it to be a effective, easy to use, and a great time saver for my purposes.
